I currently live in Edinburgh working full-time as a music tutor and performing musician. I graduated with a BA in Popular Music from Edinburgh Napier University where I was able to hone my craft as a musician, composing, performing, improvising and training on the piano and guitar. This is when my career as a self-employed arts professional began to take shape.
Jazz and popular music is my speciality, however I was classically trained via the ABRSM and Trinity College London grades. I value creativity and passion for music as well as good technique and understanding of music theory. I also understand each individual person has there own desires and reasons for playing music and this is why I have spent countless hours and hundreds of pounds in Rae Macintosh Music Room researching music books and teaching methods so I am fully equipped to tailor my lessons to each of my students aims allowing them to love playing music while developing their technical skill set on the piano or guitar.
At present, I have a busy week as a private music tutor, working from home and at Lamp House Music school. I also work with three live performance agencies, WooHoo, Banana Row and Music For Scotland. They send me bookings for performances at weddings, parties, corporate and private events.
I am continually writing and developing material for my show, a combination of magic and music mixed in with comedy, to be performed each year as a part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I also have my own creative musical outlets working on material in the jazz and popular music world. This has led to performances at the Jazz Bar in Edinburgh, a tour of the UK and performances in jazz festivals.
